national phone warning system upgrade

The current Emergency Alert system provides warnings to landlines and mobile phones based on the customer’s registered service address.  A new location-based solution will send warnings to mobile phones that are physically in an emergency zone when a disaster strikes.  See media release here..

August 2010
Nerrigundah RFB Website published.  The site has been designed as a portal for access to relevant information for both brigade members and the local community.  Whilst the format of this page will remain simple to facilitate easy access for all, links to information will increase and suggestions for helpful links are welcome.  We thank the Rural Fire Service Association for hosting the site.

July 2010
Additional 20,000 litre tank installed at the fireshed which now brings our water storage capacity to 40,000 litres.  With a bore capable of re-filling the tanks at about 3,600 litres per hour we should now be able to provide water to visiting tankers in a major fire situation.  Our thanks to Cadgee Quarry Concrete and Narooma UnitingCare Drop-in Centre for their assistance with this project.

October 2009
Nerrigundah Brigade was successful in gaining a grant to enable the purchase of a defibrillator, trolley and refrigerator from The Department of Families, Housing, Community Service and Indigenous Affairs.

July 2009
Nerrigundah Brigade was successful in securing a Grant from NRMA for the purchase of a backup power supply that will guarantee maintaining water access from it's bore in times of power outage.

October 2005
Bore sunk and tank located next to the fire shed with funding provided by the Rural Fire Service Association and Eurobodalla Shire Council.

June 2004
Electricity connected to the fireshed (originally requested in 1979).  Our thanks to Country Energy (now Origin) for providing the connection and service pole at zero cost.

June 1981
Brigade renamed to Nerrigundah Bush Fire Brigade.

August 1979
Eurobodalla and Nerrigundah brigades combined again to become Nerrigundah Eurobodalla Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade.

February 1963
Brigades separated and our local brigade became known as Nerrigundah Bush Fire Brigade.  The split enabled the brigades to become better equipped including having a Landrover each.

October 1962
Eurobodalla/Nerrigundah Bush Fire Brigade established.  At this time the combined brigade had a trailer located at both Eurobodalla and Nerrigundah but the 2 areas shared a Landrover between them.  Scan of original Brigade Formation Minutes here...
